LRAD Corporation’s long range communication systems can be networked, remotely operated, and integrated, controlled, and monitored from remote command and control centers. As part of an integrated system, LRAD can be integrated into a sensor network to automatically track targets detected by radar, cameras or other sensors incorporated into the Border and Perimeter Security System. Once a potential threat is identified, LRAD initiates a powerful deterrent tone followed by a highly intelligible multi-language voice broadcast. LRAD’s integrated high intensity spotlight can be activated to illuminate a nighttime threat. This enables the command and control center to view and respond to threats from a safe environment in a remote location.

LRAD’s Integrated Border and Perimeter Protection System creates large standoff and safety zones, deter¬mines and alters a security threat’s intent and behavior, buys time for security personnel to respond if neces¬sary, resolves uncertain situations peacefully, and potentially saves lives.

LRAD systems are the most thoroughly tested acoustic hailing device (AHD) available today, having successfully passed approximately 40 sepa¬rate U.S government tests including all MIL STD testing for heat, humidity, and shock. LRAD is the only AHD approved by the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.

Full control of the audio output; the loudness of LRAD broadcasts can be adjusted quickly to the situation.

• LRAD broadcasts have been optimized to the 1 - 5 kHz range where human hear¬ing is most sensitive. LRAD systems maintain a smooth frequency response with an intensity variation of less than 5dB over in the range between 300Hz and 6.5 kHz. This avoids audio fading and ensures clear communications across all fre¬quencies.
• Adjustable broadcast beam width from a nominal +/- 15 degrees to a nominal +/- 7.5 degrees for use in areas of high reverberation or where a targeted broadcast is desired.
• LRAD systems are available through routine, commercial procurement channels. In the U.S., LRAD systems are available on the government procurement schedule and have been assigned National Stock Numbers.
