Falcon
Searcher Mk 6 “Back Scatter”
Falcon was developed for the British Ministry of Defence. The use of “gamma backscatter” was employed by British counter-terrorist forces quite successfully and then sold to many similar forces around the world.
The Mk 6 Falcon is a portable, lightweight device that detects the presence of hidden organic material (explosives, drugs, etc.) by highlighting unexpected variance in the density or thickness behind barrier material (truck skin, walls, etc.). For example, the natural space within a wall or car door will show a lower reading than one that contains hidden drugs or explosives (or other organic material).
Following considerable R&D a world-first in imaging capability. A laptop highlights anomalies and helps to discount false positives. It is connected to the search device via transmitters and receivers. The searched area is wirelessly transmitted to the lap top where it is highlighted by a colored display.
